The Project Management
managed the operational aspects of the Network and the strategic aspects were
the responsibility of the Consortium.
Consortium
There were an original 14 organisations represented on the Consortium. These
include the main organisations involved in the Training of Trainers in
Ireland, with representatives from training, education, employer and trade
union sectors.
The issues of accreditation,
licensing and continuous professional development emerged very strongly
within the Network.
Building on the research
among network members, the Consortium produced the Strategy for the
Development of Trainers and Facilitators of Learning in Ireland. Over 100
people attended the launch of this in March 2000, and it has received very
positive feedback and has sustained interest in the Network.
The Consortium:
- Provided leadership and
strategic direction to the Trainers Network during the project
- Contributed resources to
build the network
- Influenced the national
agenda on the training of trainers by producing the Strategy for the
Development of Trainers and Facilitators of Learning in Ireland
- Are committed to having the
Strategy implemented
- Welcomes new members as it
re-forms following the Adapt project phase.
The task of developing
the Strategy for the Development of Trainers and Facilitators of Learning
in Ireland consolidated the working of the Consortium, who will re-form
as a national policy group to lead the implementation of the Strategy.
